Daily Telegraph: Nokia slides to €1bn loss as sales tumble

David McQueen, an analyst at Informa, said: “Nokia’s set of recent results show some of its worst results ever for a final quarter. Whilst total volume shipments were down 8pc year-on-year, probably in line with expectations, surprisingly smart devices volume sales was down a massive 31pc.”

There was “impressive demand” for the handsets immediately after their launch, but “this early promise obviously never really materialised for the remainder of the quarter, which is a key time of year for all handset vendors,” he added.
